Couples therapy, also called relationship counselling, offers a space to explore communication patterns, manage conflict more effectively, and navigate times of relational crisis—such as after an affair or other ruptures in trust.
In therapy, both partners speak in confidence with a trained therapist to explore what has gone wrong in the relationship and how things might change for the better. It can help couples understand each other’s emotional needs more deeply, improve communication, and strengthen mutual support. Often, individuals who find it difficult to engage in psychological support alone are able to benefit when their partner is involved.
My approach to couples therapy is informed by training in Attachment Narrative Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). These evidence-based models help couples reconnect emotionally, rebuild trust, and develop practical tools for sustaining healthy relationships. Whether the focus is on healing after conflict or deepening intimacy, I tailor the work to each couple’s unique dynamic.
Who is it for?
Couples therapy is suitable for couples of all ages, whether married or not, mixed or same-sex, living together or apart. It can support relationships at any stage—from early commitment to long-term partnership.
Issues Couples Therapy Can Help With:
Couples therapy can also support partners who feel more comfortable seeking help together, as well as those whose relationship difficulties may be affecting their children.
I also have experience working with couples in open or non-monogamous relationships, offering a respectful and affirming space to explore relational boundaries, emotional needs, and shared values.
Intensive Couples therapy : Repair, Reconnect, Rebuild
Intensive couples therapy offers a focused and immersive approach to relationship healing, often delivered over extended sessions or consecutive days. This format allows couples to delve deeply into recurring patterns, unresolved conflicts, and emotional disconnection without the interruption of weekly scheduling. It can be especially helpful during times of crisis—such as after infidelity, major life transitions, or when communication has broken down—by creating space for meaningful insight, emotional repair, and renewed connection. Drawing on evidence-based models like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, and Attachment Narrative Therapy, intensive work supports couples in rebuilding trust, strengthening intimacy, and developing lasting tools for relational resilience. Three months of therapy in just two days
Some couples reach a point where weekly sessions are no longer enough. The distance feels impossible to ignore, old conflicts refuse to rest, and life seems to be passing by while nothing changes. Staying stuck in painful patterns can feel overwhelming—but there is another way forward.
A Couples Intensive offers a different kind of space. One or two full days devoted entirely to your relationship. No distractions. No avoidance. Just you, your partner, and a guided process designed to help you understand what is happening between you—and what might be possible.
It’s the equivalent of three months of weekly therapy condensed into two days, creating clarity, movement, and breakthroughs that ordinary sessions rarely achieve. Intensives provide the focus and depth needed to repair trust, reconnect emotionally, and rediscover the bond that brought you together.
Inside a Couples Intensive
Spending one or two full days together in therapy creates a unique opportunity for change. Instead of the usual weekly pace, you and your partner step into a concentrated process that blends conversation, guided reflection, and practical exercises.
During the intensive you’ll experience:
This isn’t about quick fixes or pressured decisions. It’s about giving yourselves the rare gift of uninterrupted focus—an environment that is both supportive and challenging—so you can begin to repair trust, reconnect emotionally, and move forward with clarity.
